CURRENT INFORMATION & SERVICE

This year’s competition takes place in Munich in a succession of four selection phases, between September 1 and 19, 2025 in the categories Clarinet, Piano and Trumpet. The first selection round starts on Monday, September 1, with the Clarinet category.
The competition’s worldwide standing is endorsed yet again this year by the number of applicants. More then 600 applications from 51 nations were received for this year’s contest, in the categories Clarinet, Piano and Trumpet. Following a preliminary selection process, a total of 169 candidates were invited to come to Munich to participate in the competition. The ARD Music Competition’s international reputation is also evident from the high proportion of participants from countries outside Germany (87 % this year). The contestants will be assessed by a jury comprising top-flight international musicians, including Homero Francesch, Reinhold Friedrich, Sharon Kam, Sabine Meyer, Antti Siirala and Anna Vinnitskaya.
