Alexis Grizard

Alexis Grizard was born in Jena in 2002 and is a French-German organist. He began taking piano lessons at the age of ten; shortly thereafter, he discovered his passion for the organ and was accepted into Philippe Brandeis’s class at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Cergy-Pontoise.
From 2020 to 2025, Grizard studied organ at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMD) with Olivier Latry, Michel Bouvard, and Thomas Ospital, as well as at the Hamburg University of Music and Drama with Wolfgang Zerer. Since 2021, he has also been studying composition and improvisation at the CNSMD. In addition, since September 2025, Alexis has been taking lessons in Martin Schmeding’s master class at the „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ University of Music and Drama in Leipzig.
Grizard is a multiple prize winner at international organ competitions. In 2025, he won first prize at the St. Albans International Organ Competition as well as the prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned work by Jean-Baptiste Robin. In 2024, he received first prize at the Concours international d’Orgue Xavier Darasse in the “20th-Century Organ” category. In addition, he was awarded the “Grand Prix d’Orgue Jean-Louis Florentz” in 2023, along with the prize for the best interpretation of a contemporary work and the audience prize.
In 2021, Grizard participated in the recording of all of Olivier Messiaen’s organ works at St-Étienne Cathedral in Toul. In June 2026, Rocamadour-Musique Sacrée released his first solo CD featuring works by Jean-Louis Florentz and Claude Debussy.
Grizard performs regularly as a soloist at venues such as the Philharmonie de Paris, Saint-Eustache in Paris, St. Peter and Paul in Ratingen, and Santi Ambrogio e Carlo al Corso in Rome. He also appears at renowned festivals, including “La Chaise-Dieu,” “Toulouse les Orgues,” and “Paris des Orgues.”
At the 75th ARD International Music Competition, Alexis Grizard won the second prize in the organ category.
