Robin Paillet

Robin Paillet was born in the French Alps in 2002 and began playing the trumpet at the age of six. In 2020, he was accepted into the class of Marx Geuion and Alexis Demailly at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. In 2023, Robin furthered his studies with Reinhold Friedrich at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe.
Paillet has performed with major orchestras such as the Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Paris, the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre National de France, and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. He has also played under the baton of renowned conductors such as Klaus Mäkelä, Daniele Gatti, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Simone Young, Philippe Jordan and Christian Mâcelaru.
In 2024, he was awarded first prize at the Ellsworth Smith International Trumpet Competition in the United States, as well as the first prize at the August Everding Music Competition organized by the Münchener Konzertverein in Munich. He also received the second prize at the Roger Voisin Competition in Miami and a special prize for his interpretation of a contemporary piece at the Kesselblech Brass Festival in Stuttgart, Germany.
At the 74th ARD International Music Competition, Robin Paillet won the first prize, the audience prize, as well as the special prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned composition in the trumpet category.
