Lev Zhuravskii

Lev Zhuravskii was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 2000 and completed his musical education at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory in the class of Prof. Grigory Maliev, where he studied from 2007 to 2023.
Numerous master classes with leading clarinetists such as Giora Feidman and Olli Leppäniemi Heiner Schindler, Ralph Manno, and many others enriched his musical career.
Lev Zhuravskii also gained extensive experience as a soloist at international concerts. Among other things, he has performed with the St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the National Philharmonic Orchestra “Serghei Lunchevici” in Moldova, and the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra.
The clarinetist gained orchestral experience as a member of the All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Yuri Bashmet on a tour of Asia. Since 2019, he has been principal clarinetist at the Mikhailovsky Theater in St. Petersburg.
Lev Zhuravskii has won numerous competitions, including first prize at the I.P. Mozgovenko Anniversary Competition in Moscow in 2019 and an award at the Leoš Janáček Competition in Brno in 2019. He achieved further success with second prize at the All-Russian music competition for woodwind quintets in 2020, fourth prize at the Aeolus Competition in Düsseldorf in 2022, third prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 2023, and third prize at the ARD International Music Competition in the wind quintet category last year.
At the 74th ARD International Music Competition, Lev Zhuravskii won the third prize in the clarinet category.
